The Go Button is vital if your horse and you want to enjoy things and, more importantly, stay safe.
Clackers are a wonderful extra leg — or pair of legs if you carry one in each hand.
They are a little stiffer than the dressage equivalent, making contact with a clack sound. I have yet to meet a horse who does not react by moving forwards on request.
Always give the normal Go Forward aid; if no instant response, then back up your aid with a clack.
Health Warning:
Occasional horses can react with a buck until they learn the meaning.
